Dropship, my experience I

Personally, I tried about 3 years ago. However, it was not a good experience for me. I do NOT recommend dropship for people who do not have website that has excellent traffic. Unless you have lots of traffic of your site, dropship won't bring you money.

For me, I first tried dropship on ebay since I did not have my personal website. The first problem is that the price difference between how much you sell and how much you buy is NOT as big as in the advertisement. e.x. you can get a product with 10$ whose recommended retail price is 30$ or higher, but since no one on ebay sells the product with price 30$, you can actually sell maybe only at price 15$. It seems that you can make 5$ profit for the sale of single product. Wrong!!! You need to pay fees for ebay. What is more, since you sell at ebay, you usually need to have paypal business account, and you need to pay transaction fee to paypal. What is left for you? maybe only 1$, maybe only 20 cents. Remember that You also need to pay membership fee. So what could be left for you? For me, it is negative!!!

Another problem of dropship is the "shipping, shipping and shipping". On one hand, it saves you time when other people ships for you. On the other hand, you really risks the quality of your service. Take my experience for example, when customers submit and pay the order, they want to know the status of their order immediately. However, you are NOT in charge of that. Usually you have about 1-3 days delay of the status of shipping. What is worse is that item is missing during shipping or the shipped item is a little different compared to what their website claims. I had both of the situations. Finally, I got 2 negative feedbacks. That is really bad for me as a seller on ebay.
